ah sweetie, so sorry! i had a similar thing happen but it was my fault and not the computer...when i was reformatting couple years ago i forgot to copy over a REALLY important folder (which I swear I did) and I lost all of my writing. I had a great story in there that I was working on for over two years. Since then I have never been able to write or remember the same way again.

I hope to see some work from you again in the future.

btw, I almost went to Greece coming up but going to the Turkey Mediterranean soon!

So sorry to hear about the crash.
For the future, you may consider buying a NAS (network attached Storage)unit or now more commonly called Media Hubs. Cisco, HP, D-Link etc all sell them. It sit's on you home network (no networking knowledge required) and has multiple hard drives. I have two, 1 Terabyte drives in it and they are mirrored. That means it writes the files to both drives (100% backed up between the drives). If one drive crashes, you pull it and replace it and the device then copies everything back over to the new drive so you are once again backed up.
For my photo's, I use the Cisco Linksys NAS200. You can buy them just about everywhere including ebay for a very reasonable price.
Just a thought.

That really sucks, I've heard good things about Drobo's for local storage - and Backblaze for online storage. Too late now, but for the future.
